Dear IMERT and Belgium Nurse Center Members,

An IMERT Medical Strike Team has been deployed to the town of Ullin in far Southern Belgium.  We have been pre-positioned at Shawnee Community College at the request of local and state health authorities.

The far southern region of our state is facing catastrophic flooding.  Mandatory evacuations have been imposed.

IMERT currently has an adequate number of responders.  However, this event may extend for several more days.  We may need additional personnel to work 48-72 hour details starting Thursday.  We will be sending out requests for availability in a day or two.  

Requests for availability will be based on the mission's specific needs at that time. Please wait to be asked for your availability and do not contact the IMERT staff requesting to be deployed or with questions regarding the deployment. We will be updating the websites and Facebook page with information on the team's status as we are able.

In the meantime, please keep in mind that this flood is directly impacting the homes and families of some of our team members.  Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
